What’s EarlyBird?

We’re glad you asked.

EarlyBird is the simplest way to invest in a child's future. We make it easy for parents, family, and friends to build a nest egg that grows while creating a beautiful time capsule of photo and video memories alongside each contribution. We've heard it feels just as good as finding the perfect nanny. Maybe even better.

Investing, simplified

Parenting is hard. With options for recurring contributions, we’ve made it easier than ever to invest on a regular basis (just like the experts recommend).

Invite your community

No matter whether the goal is a college fund or a big adventure, kickstart their savings with gifts and contributions from friends and family.

Celebrate every moment

With each gift or investment, you can add a special photo or video memory. That means your kid will never lose sight of the love that built their nest.

Frequently asked questions

Have questions We have answers.

How do I add EarlyBird to my baby registry?

We’ve made it easy! After opening your baby’s EarlyBird account, you’ll have a unique link to share with friends and family who want to contribute. You can add the link to a registry that you’ve already created or include your EarlyBird link on party invitations, display a QR code at your baby shower, or simply email it to inquiring loved ones. We’ll take care of the rest 😊.

What happens to any financial gifts after my baby is born?

After your baby is born, you’ll be able to invest financial gifts in a custodial account known as an UGMA (Uniform Gifts to Minors Act). We love UGMA accounts because they allow for flexible use of funds (as opposed to 529 plans, which can only be used for education expenses, unless you’re willing to rack up adverse tax consequences).

What can I invest in with EarlyBird?

We’ve set EarlyBird up so that your child can have a smart, simple, and modern portfolio. That means the option to invest in ETF-based portfolios and crypto, all tailored to you and your child’s goals, timeline, and risk tolerance.

How are my accounts and investments protected?

We’re committed to providing you and your family with the highest levels of security. Our trusted partner and custodian Apex Clearing Corporation, a third-party SEC registered broker-dealer and member of FINRA and Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), holds all investment accounts. This means the investments in your account are protected up to $500,000 total.

We also use multi-factor authentication, automatic logouts, ID verification to prevent unauthorized access, and 256-bit SSL encryption to protect accounts.

What are the fees? How does pricing work?

In celebration of your growing family, your EarlyBird Baby Fund is free until your little one arrives and their gifts are invested.

After that, our pricing is simple. The subscription fee is $2.95/month for families with one child or $4.95/month for families with multiple children.

For family and friends who are sending gifts, there is a gift processing fee that is applied based on the gift value and payment method.
